FAQ

  • Can I purchase prints from you?

Firstly, I’m flattered that you are even asking that question. And in response, yes! Please head to my store in the navigation menu to see what images I currently have available for print. If you have see an image that I have captured on my social channels, which is not available in the store, please contact me and I will see if I can help.

  • Why street photography?

Quite simply, during the pandemic, I had to find something to occupy my time and decided to pick up a camera. Due to distance and social restrictions, street photography was the easiest genre to take up. Having said that, I’ve always been an avid watcher of people, ever since I was a child, always pointing out randomness or unfolding scenes to my family and friends. I soon found that my wondering mind and inability to focus on a single thing/person/conversation when in a public place, helped with my street photography endeavours.

  • What's with the film and digital thing?

I enjoy both formats as a way of making images for very different reasons. I lean more towards film photography for my family and close to home image making, but also do enjoy making street and general images on 35mm. I am planning to make more work on medium format this year, so keep an eye on my Insta film photography feed for developments.

I have a kind of love-hate relationship with digital photography or that should be the process of making and editing digital images. I find the almost infinite adjustments you can make a time consuming and never ending process. I’m never happy, ever. In fact, I have a huge catalogue of images that I haven’t shared due to lack of motivation to edit. With film, I choose the stock for the look I want, make the images and voila! Simple.

  • What focal length do you shoot?

Most of my images are made on a 28mm or 35mm focal length. I don’t like to rely on autofocus, so prefer to have a large depth of field available. Plus, I really enjoy the context that wider focal length brings to an image.

  • Which camera brand do you use?

Various. I have no loyalty to a particular brand. I have two types of digital camera, one fixed lens the other interchangeable.

Film cameras, I use loads of different things. From £6 charity shop find point and shoots to rangefinders. Depends on my mood at the time.

  • Anything you want to know?

I’m sure that over time this section of the website will grow. I’ve tried to cover the basics for now, the kind of questions I get asked most often on socials.

If you have a burning question about an image or camera that I may be using, feel free to send me an email or DM on socials and I will do my best to give you a timely answer.
